Mist Fairies

Long ago, humans entered the Great Forest seeking land, wealth, and power. They cut ancient trees, hunted without restraint, and brought their wars into a place that had known harmony for thousands of years. The Mist Fairies pleaded with them to stop. They healed the wounded, regrew the forests, and extinguished the fires, but each act of mercy was answered with more bloodshed.

To end the wars without wiping humanity from the earth, the fairies cast the Veil of Balance. Humans became animal hybrids, their bodies forever tied to the instincts of the creatures that best reflected their spirits. Wolves, bears, ravens hybrids were born. The fairies hoped that by reconnecting humanity to nature, they would learn to live as part of it instead of above it.

For generations, peace returned. But eventually the clans began fighting once more. Their leaders became consumed by pride, vengeance, and the desire to rule.

The Mist Fairies passed a final judgment. The chiefs, kings, and queens who refused every chance for peace were transformed completely into beasts. They lost the ability to return to human form. Became consumed by their animal instincts.

It was both a punishment and a warning: those who surrendered completely to their instincts would remain bound to them.

Wolfling the beginning

Wolves don’t belong in the northern forest, yet they had to cross it.

They made their way to borders between territories where no clan dominates. Their mission required them crossing the border into the bear’s territory. The price was high, but they ran out of options.

“I don’t like how quiet it is here. It’s that same kind of thick quiet. I swear I feel a bear–it’s like they hide behind silence.” Said Veric as he looked around the forest apprehensively.

“We’re just passing through. Gotta make it to the shores quickly.” Whispered an older wolf-human hybrid named Victor.

“Don’t worry guys, I’ll protect you.” Said the smallest wolf-human hybrid of the group sarcastically.

Don’t let her size fool you, she was born a silverhowl, the strongest and fastest of the wolf-human hybrids, with long black hair and striking amber eyes to boot. She was named Silver.

Fav Holidays. Christmas now, Eid Al Adha back in the day

What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

Eid Al Adha during my childhood in Iraq meant no school for FOUR days! The best part was that mom didn’t work either. Dad would wake us up too early to go visit his parents and his side of the family in a town nearby. We would eat, get new clothes, receive money and gifts from adults, and have a great time.

Christmas replaced that now that we live in America. I like to buy matching pjs for me, my sisters, nieces, and my son. Getting gifts might not be the favorite part. I just enjoy family time and days with no work or school.
